Hezbollah is a Lebanese Shia Islamist political party and paramilitary group, led since 1992 by its Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah. Hezbollah's paramilitary wing is the Jihad Council, and its political wing is the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc party in the Lebanese Parliament.

I can’t help but notice that the regular Lebanese people seem very different to their Iranian-controlled leadership…

Genetic Fallacy

The genetic fallacy is the act of rejecting or accepting an argument on the basis of its origin rather than its content. Under the genetic fallacy, we judge a claim by paying too much attention to its source or history, even though this criticism is irrelevant to the truth of the claim.

Lebanon: Mass flight of residents from Hezbollah stronghold

The Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper (affiliated with Hezbollah!) this morning publishes an article describing the mass desertion of Lebanese from the Dahiyah area, which is considered a disaster-prone area in the event of a war, to "safe areas" that are not affiliated with Hezbollah such as northern Lebanon, eastern Lebanon and also to the Christian neighborhoods in Beirut.

According to the article, the Israeli attack in Dahiya, which until then was considered an "out of combat" area, surprised the residents and shattered the estimates that Israel would not attack there - something that gave the signal for the "Dance of the Real Estate Demons".

It was also reported that some residents are in Dahiya during the day but sleep outside the area in the evening. A noticeable decrease in economic activity in Dahiya was also reported.

According to the article, the phrase "after the war" became commonplace among the citizens in the markets in Dahiya, for example when one of the market sellers was asked by a customer when the faucet he requested would arrive, the seller replied - "after the war".

It seems that contrary to the expectations of Nasrallah, who in my estimation is not reading the map correctly this time, it is precisely his own residents, the Shiites, Hezbollah loyalists, who are "standing on their feet" in anticipation of a response to the assassination....
