running independently. not that he could ever win, but his platform is very good.
In the video, he says that he was born into a low caste in India.
If I recall my 8th grade civics rightly, that makes him ineligible.
Or is "natural born citizen" no longer a requirement for the Presidency?

Supposedly he wants to make natural born citizens also take a civics test in order to get "the full privileges of citizenship".

Seems fair, but also unconstitutional.

The GOP hopeful said he would seek to pass a constitutional amendment on the matter and also go a step further and require those born in the U.S. to take a civics test at 18 similar to the way that foreign nationals are required to take.

"I would go further and codify into a constitutional amendment that I would support if necessary that dovetails on the constitutional amendment that I've already said that I would support, which is to say that anyone born in this country, if you want to enjoy the full privileges of citizenship at age 18, that means that you have to pass the same civics test that a naturalized citizen has to pass in order to become a full voting citizen as well," he said.

Elections are just an illusion. Trying to make you believe there is a choice. If voting really mattered they wouldn't let us do it.
if you didnt notice, i typed "(s)election thread" as the title, inferring that presidents are Selected rather than Elected.
see, now you made me press the shift key to type capital letters...

youre right-- he was born in bombay. he is immediately disqualified. no matter-- the fact that he brings what the media describe as "conspiracy theories" like the plandemic, adrenochrome, etc. into the conversation is good enough. getting unawake people to talk about this is of the highest value.

[obama was born in kenya, but thats "unofficial". i think ted cruz, who was a candidate last time, is actually canadian, as well.]

You're wrong on this one because if 90% of adult voters wrote in Charles Bronson on their ballot and he didn't win... there'd be mass protests in the streets. Elections are real- the illusion is that the public in all Western countries are just coincidentally divided 49/51 between either liberal or conservative parties. We're forever divided hating each other and nothing changes.

too much of a slippery slope when a test is required to vote. the test could be slanted or made very difficult, excluding ''undesirable voters".
equality under the law-- that includes stupid, ignorant people having the same rights as people who know what is going on. those people surely need to be educated, but not forced to prove it.

ahh, the biden/harris ticket....

want your children to breathe clean air and to drink clean water? just reduce the population, dummy!

0:15.

(who claps for that?)
Because this surely will get more votes for them.
Wow.
They blatantly come out and say it.
There's no hiding.
If anyone votes for them, they are still heavily sleeping.
I bet the vote will be fixed like usual, so they will win again.

I was not a political science major, but I've got enough credits in Am. History to safely claim it as a "minor"...and I've done a lot of just general reading, especially in 19th & 20th c. Am. Hist. Something I've noted is that people seem to think that political "fixing" is somehow NOT the norm.

From what I've read, the fix is in and has been for a long, long time. The days of ol' "Honest Abe" are long gone and lost forever. If I recall, in those days the fix was in even for old Abe. Its been too long since I've looked back on those studies; of course, the fix was much simpler and more easily done back in those days.

I've yet to understand why here in the U.S. we don't use the "ink on the finger" style of voting. You go to the poll, get your finger inked, and you mark your ballot. Simple. Go to a different poll and try to vote with an already inked finger, and that's all brother. I think in some countries you can be thrown in the hoosegow if you don't vote. I seem to recall that was the way it was back in the Ancients' days.

That gives me an idea for a "future history" story ... a recollection of how we voted in (say) the 23rd c. I forget how it was thought of in (e.g.) Stand On Zanzibar. That was a good read. If anyone has any suggestions for good "future history" stories, holler out. I'll be turning off the television once the new election commercials start blaring, so I'll need some more books to read.

This is something that most don't realize, unfortunately.
This has been a thing for longer than most understand.
No matter who we would want to vote for,
the result will end up being the same.

That (a test) will not happen in any foreseeable future. Remember when it used to be so? In the Deep South such a test was used for many many years. And until relatively recently.

His grasp of American history is laughable.

Tulsi Gabbard teases 2024 presidential bid

When asked if her potential presidential bid would be under a third party or under the centrist organization No Labels, Gabbard said she was open to it.

“I would consider all options. Put it that way,” Gabbard said.

The former congresswoman announced her departure from the Democratic Party in October and has become a strong voice for conservative causes.

“I think that there are actually a lot of Democrats across the country who, like me, feel that today’s Democratic Party is completely out of touch with the people,” Gabbard said. “We have the Democrat elite, people in the Biden administration pushing this nonsense saying things like the government should be responsible for raising your children, not you as parents. They are pushing things like censorship of any speech that they don’t like. They are pushing open borders. They are pushing favoring victims or criminals.”

“I was a Democrat my entire life until a few months ago,” she continued. “Because of their insanity, I could no longer associate myself with them.”
