This was my exact thought when I saw this clip of jk talking to his mom on the phone. Like are his parents actually proud and how did they react when he got all those tattoos? I know tattoos are very much looked down upon in SK. I imagine it would effect finding a partner his family would find suitable etc. Then again they basically threw him away to the Kpop industry when he was only 13. I wonder for the other members too but their families might not care how they act because they have famous rich sons they can brag about.

Read between the lines. I think YJ has an eating disorder or is sensitive about his body. I don't blame SB. They're still kids and it's creating unnecessary pressure. I hope he doesn't go the same route as JM. He seems like a better leader than RM, who made fun of his members for being dark skinned.

I think they definitely do turn up the heat for sponsors. To either entice them or just put on a "good show", or because their sponsors are paying for them to behave that way. Regardless of the reasons, in my opinion, it's pretty gross. It's like going to a strip club except the clothes never come off.

When I read, "threw him away to the Kpop industry", I had never looked at it that way before, but you are definitely on to something here. For his mom to actually know a kpop song like that surprises me a bit. I may be going out on a limb here, but if you were trying to get your son into kpop, you'd know a lot about different kpop artists and how the industry works. Things is too, JK went to A LOT of auditions. Someone (PARENTS) had to get him to those auditions considering how young he was at the time.
Korean parents these days will get their sons into sports or any field that might grant them the awards and/or medals necessary to make them exempt from that mandatory military service. This is why JK is so athletic, and so "good at everything". JM's parents did the same thing with him. Seriously, you can tell JM was coached when he talks about how he wanted to be a "Kendo master" and all that junk, because that is the EXACT sort of thing a famous athlete would say during an interview about how they got into the sport.

It was on twittr. I had the tweet bookmarked on my old account but I deactivated that one. From what I've seen there's a lot of once Karmys that have stopped stanning the group. Jk especially has lost a lot of fans because of his tattoos/piercing and they don't think he lives up to being an idol. Pretty shallow but some of the stuff they say is spot on.
Right! Stan culture is so toxic, I just read how a tictoc star who was sentenced to 24 years in prison for vehicular manslaughter (killing a mother and child while racing his sports car) and apparently he had an outpouring of stans who are calling for his early release because he is “too cute” for prison. Even the guys mom has come out and said it’s getting scary because the stans stalk her and his other family members & hus fiancé. More and more people are miserable in their own lives and are becoming obsessed with celebrities. It’s not anything new we’ve seen it time and time again but because more celebrities are accessible with social media and more celebrities are becoming celebrities by doing the most menial things on social media… stans feel like they have a right to their lives. These people have become their Gods and that’s always a recipe for disaster…for the stan and sometimes for the celebrity.
I know celebrities who actually do laugh, and find it all quite bizarre and oftentimes scary. Very seldom is there any mutual respect involved when it comes to stans.
I’ve noticed him saying this multiple times that he’s an angel or a fairy. I initially thought he was just taking what army has called him and making it his moniker… it seems to me again he’s playing into the role that many see him as. I believe I’ve heard other members call him a fairy also. Either way it’s all weird!
