Mark Ruffalo, Mark Hamill and Leonardo DiCaprio have recently tweeted about brazil, trying to convice the young ones about the importance of voting, trying to convice people from 16 and above to get their papers right, with special attention towards Lula. Hm.... what was this called, again?

This article here is in portuguese and is a whole sum up of the situation, get a little autotranslate guys, we're in the future.

These two down here were just the news about mark ruffalo and the other guys from holywood messing up with us.

Now, seriously, this is not even conspiracy theory anymore. This is real deal, there are shady people trying to influence young people to vote for lula, they specifically go for teenagers because they are dumbed down and influenciable. I remember there was a whole affair of *russians trying to influence 'murica elections* and now this down here is in bright lights, what the heck

Didn't want to make a whole new thread...

Looks like a possibly rigged election reinstating a leftist president who couldn't run in 2018 because he was in jail.

I don't know much about Brazilian politics, but i knew i liked bolsonaro because he's so anti v@x that he couldnt eat indoors when visiting new york last year for the un general assembly.

Of course, this corrupt illegitimate government couldnt wait to congratulate him - "fair, free and credible elections" is this a joke?

The demoncrats probably cut a deal so they can make a buck off destroying the rain forests and then calling it climate change. And the republicrats will cry and wring their hands all the while feeding off the profits too.

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro delivered brief comments on Tuesday – keeping the media waiting for over an hour – addressing growing protests against the election of convicted felon Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to the presidency but failing to address his loss on Sunday.

The socialist Lula – who served two terms as president from 2003 to 2011 and was convicted in 2017 of taking bribes while in the nation’s highest office – won the 2022 presidential election on Sunday by one of the slimmest margin’s in history. Lula was allowed to run for the presidency despite being a convicted criminal because the nation’s top court, the Supreme Federal Tribunal (STF), overturned the conviction on procedural grounds. The STF never presented any evidence contradicting the facts of the case that led to a sentence of over two decades in prison.

The circumstances surrounding Lula’s presence on the ballot and the closeness of the election results – 51.9 percent for Lula, 49.1 percent for Bolsonaro – have triggered a wave of protests across the country, most of them roadblocks led by pro-Bolsonaro truckers threatening to disrupt supply chains nationwide. Police have documented hundreds of pro-Bolsonaro roadblocks in 24 of the nation’s 26 states in the past two days.

This is mostly right, except that this is not a pro-bolsonaro protest. You don't see his name or face anywhere on the roadblocks. This is happening in the same fashion as it had happened back in 2015. Had another person won this elections this wouldn't be happening.

Still, if Lula were to tax onlyfans, instagram influencers, twitch streamers and youtubers i'd totally be militant about him until 2026.

Also, this is a general feeling. At least for me and the other half of people who are pissed and didn't go to protest the consensus is that we'll get to live the next four years and the next elections we'll get someone else. Lula will be old and won't be able to run again, people will get screwed due to overtax and budget cuts (who's gonna help Argentina, after all?).

I'm from the poorest part of the country. The guy promissed meat and beer to the masses, and while people down south are talking about "methaphorically" distributing meat and beer the same way that Trump promissed a wall, people here up north are LITERALLY waiting for huge ammounts of meat. I know, i've talked to people here who voted for him, i mean normal peoplel. They're totally waiting for meat rain next year. And some people went as far as commenting "he promissed, he must fulfill it."

There is really nice bright side. Lula already announced a welfare cut, the government aid was about 600 brl and now will be cut to 400 brl, and it will be cut more and new conditions will be set up (i.e. only people who have kids in school and said kids were vaccinated are elegible to get the aid). Lots of people have got money from moneysharks and banks and they totally don't intend to pay back if the aid is cut. Well, good riddance to the banks.

Also, we got a new way of eletronic money transfer here called PIX. You can totally transfer as little as 1 cent to another person any hour of the day and it is totally tax-free. This was a huge boost to transactions and economy in general. Guess what, lula wants to tax this.

So sounds like Lula is Brazilian version of Biden? And bolsonaro is Brazilian Orange Man? And last but certainly not least did Dominion count the votes?

Im here in US so i may have misunderstood, but from what i read in another forum the Brazilian flag being used means they are pro-bolsonaro, similar to how here if someone is waving an American flag instead of a gay flag people assume they are a republican or pro-trump. Something about patriotism being a "right-wing" characteristic.

You're not wrong, many of the protesters are pro-Bolsonaro indeed but 50% of brazilians don't want to be ruled by an ex-convicted aka Lula and many of them are on the streets to protest against him. Like Mrs Anderson said, had any other person won this election, brazilians wouldn't be protesting. So like, this is more an anti-Lula than a pro-Bolsonaro protest.

As @Noname said, tough most people there have voted for Bolsonaro the protests are not about him being in, but rather Lula and Alexandre de Morais being cast out.

This could be a good analogy, I guess. And smartmatic count the votes if I reckon well.

People are laughing about this guy here. He is hanging unto this truck and was offered an oportunity to get down more than once, but he refused. People use this as an example of how hipomanic are the protests. Thing is, this guy over here was willing to die and sacrifice himself to the cause. That's how damn pissed people are here. I don't know if the journalists know how serious people are and try to mock and demoralize or they plainly don't see how serious this is.

Of course, it is rigged. The time is now for their power plays. I think they will try to steal the American midterms as well, It is what they do and they could roll the dice. This is why we are seeing denier messages from the mummy-in-chief.
