You'd obviously been practicing that ridiculous John Wayne walk for a while before you decided to put it on film....I mean, wtf is that all about?
My swagger is chock full of sensational Christian body language, - kool, calm, confident and powerful..:)-
"..as a Christian, praise God that you bear that name" (1 Peter 4:16)
"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of selfdiscipline" (2 Tim 1:7)
"..that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured" (Col 4:12)

How does narcissism demonstrate Christ's Teachings or mental health and well being?

Luke 9:23 And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross DAILY, and follow me.

Luke 14:26-27
14:26 If any [man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own (human) life also, he can NOT be my disciple.
14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, can NOT be my disciple.

Taking up one's cross is learning to crucify the "self" every day, NOT bragging about it at every seeming opportunity.

Unless one HATES their human life, truly seeing that this human existence is all vanity (Eccl. 1), they have no hope of spending eternity with Father, Christ and the rest of the angels.

John 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that HATETH his life in this world shall keep it unto Life Eternal.

Haha, you think Paul was a narcissist?..:)

Exactly. No one has the same body type. A short woman would look terrible with flare jeans while a tall one would flatter her. It's all about finding your style and knowing what flatters your body.

The ladies who still skinny jeans are the current rebels in the fashion world. Good for them.
That's very true, and people aren't really going with that, they just wear whatever they want in such a crazy and disorderly way. It's become chaos, really.
Hmm, never thought I would actually see this sentence. How far we have come, and far we have fallen in society if this is what makes women rebels :(
Interesting.

Who wrote this dishonest reply as if anyone was speaking of Paul? Your "self" pretending to be you so it could attempt to divert attention from itself?

Paul was very obviously boasting of the truth of Christ, NOT deceitfully and arrogantly of his "self" or his body's supposed "swagger", which has now been lovingly pointed out for everyone's benefit, including your own.

2 Corinthians 11:11-15
11:11 Wherefore? Because I love you not? God knoweth [I do].
11:12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off opportunity from them which desire opportunity; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the Apostles of Christ.
11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
11:15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Paul very obviously advocated Christ's Teachings of crucifying the "self" DAILY (Matt. 10:38; Mark 8:34; Luke 9:23; Luke 14:26-27), and LIVED them.

Galatians 2:20 My "Self" is crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I (the "Self"), but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

God doesn't want timid lukewarm wimps..:)-

Agreed. Nor does God want anything to do with the proud, i.e. anyone who hasn't learned to resist the satanic urge to brag about their "self".

James 4:6-8
4:6 But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth Grace [only] unto the humble.
4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
4:8 Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands, [ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double-minded.

See also: Psalm 119:21; Proverbs 8:13; Isaiah 2:12; Jeremiah 50:31-32; and 1 Peter 5:5 among countless of other verses condemning pride/arrogance/being "self"-centered

Learn to destroy your "self" before it destroys you (the real you: the spiritual-Being/Soul).

The quote from Vanilla Sky springs to mind. Paraphrasing slightly, but it's something like 'if you've convinced yourself, at least you've managed to get to one person.'

Christians should be "iron men and women" so that their spiritual strength rubs off on people..:)
"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" (Proverbs 7:17)

You can be lukewarm if you like mate, but include me out.
Paul is a great fearless role model for all true christians, nobody better mess with him-.:)-

Should be and reality (how things really are) are often two very different things though, aren't they?

And in this case, what people should be doing is following Christ's Teachings instead of what is taught throughout the organized religion that deceitfully calls itself "Christianity" which, like all organized religions, employs a mind control tactic that induces cognitive dissonance, aka "double-mindedness".

James 1:8 A double minded man [is] UNSTABLE in ALL his ways.

Mate, I'm non-denominational because I prefer to think for myself..:)
As for "mind control", no true Christian wants to control others, and neither do they let anybody control them..:)
"Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them, not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." I could post a load of feedback I get from atheists, nonchristians, false "christians" etc, but it's so full of obscene cusswords that I won't..:)
Here's a relatively tame one-
"You disgust me Mick "- Reverend Eric Potts.
Mind you, it turned out Potts is not a real clergyman at all, he's just an "assistant methodist minister", so my guess is he's the caretaker of their local meeting hall and they bestowed that lofty title on him to keep him sweet so he'll carry on slopping out their latrines..:)

PS- i've often admitted on this board and others that I'm an ex-convict (3-month vigilante rap) and that i used to go with prostitutes in my younger days, so that's hardly "self-promotion" is it?.. :p

As much as it may seemingly benefit you to unburden yourself of yet more of the human experiences you've had, are you trying to paint a picture of what mental health should never look like, or do you simply struggle with reading comprehension difficulties?

You talking to me Charlie?
My solicitor sent me to a psychiatrist in connection with the vigilante rap i was facing, no doubt he was hoping i'd get off with a 'guilty but insane' plea, but to our amazement the shrink declared me sane !
His written report concluded with something like- "Mr X is a strong-minded individual which accounts for the trouble he now finds himself in with the police, but his behaviour was appropriate throughout our interview and i can find no evidence that the balance of his mind was disturbed"

Thread title- For those who need someone to listen- society's pressure on our mental health.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Incidentally when I helped at a charity shop some years ago, a lady customer said to me "You're very good with customers; I'm from the Samaritans and you're the sort we want, would you be interested?"
"Sounds great"
I replied, "I'd like to help and befriend people and maybe meet them for a coffee in town to cheer them up"
But she said- "No no no, you wouldn't be allowed to do that, you'd simply listen to them on the phone and let them do most of the talking"
So I declined her offer..:)

Have you ever attempted to run in bell-bottoms? They may look cool, but it isn't very cool or practical when the foot gets hung up inside of them. :)
But in Biblical days people had to run around in robes and sandals. Also bell-bottoms made it easier to put on shoes and less restrictive. Also the navy requires them too for military reasons I think.

Robes would have been much less restrictive to movement than today's jeans are, and sandals can easily be removed if someone actually had to run. People walked in sandals since they were invented, just as they do today; they didn't (and don't) run in them.

Also bell-bottoms made it easier to put on shoes and less restrictive. Also the navy requires them too for military reasons I think.
The bell bottoms on navy uniforms made it possible to roll the pants up when washing the deck. Hard to roll up straight legged jeans, particularly up to the knee.

used to go with prostitutes in my younger days,
You are accountable to nobody here, so why disclose your sins to others?

Ask God to forgive you within yourself, and be hopeful for His Forgiveness.

You are in need of no human's approval or validation or whatever.

Worship God Alone and not the human being, whether male or female (lower your gaze, be humble and full of modesty) while doing good to others at the same time though (without expecting any thing in return).
